Colin says -
I am both a fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and the Irish Photographic Federation. I hold a Master at the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain and have won numerous gold and silver medals. I am privileged to be asked to judge national photographic competitions and I’ve had my own exhibitions.
An avid monochrome worker, I enjoy the simplicity that the black and white image affords. I believe that by removing colour, the focus is shifted, distractions are minimized viewers impressions are altered. My goal, wherever possible, is to create drama, mood and narrative power.
I enjoy the tactile physicality of the print and consider that the way an image is printed can influence the meaning and the emotional values we attach to it. I believe that printing is an intimate and exquisite craft that lies at the heart of photography. As photographers we should all print our images and take the liberty of encouraging others to do the same.
